Specialty & Comfort
For anxious first-timers, children with special health care needs, and any child facing bigger treatment — this is dentistry built around how your child feels, led by board-certified pediatric specialists.
Some kids need a little more. We planned for it.
Some children settle into the chair like they've done it forever. Others need a slower pace, gentler tools, or real help finding calm — and pretending otherwise is how kids learn to dread the dentist.
Every service here is delivered by board-certified pediatric specialists Dr. Linh Tsai and Dr. Judy Brown, who set the pace by your child and explain every choice — benefits, risks, and alternatives — before anything is decided. No child is too wiggly, too worried, or too unique for this office.
Five ways to make hard visits easy.
Each one removes a different reason to be afraid — the drill, the shot, the unknown, even the car ride.
The philosophy behind the calm.
None of this is improvised. Four rules govern every appointment in this category — and most appointments outside it, too.
Comfort before treatment
Nothing starts until your child is settled. We earn cooperation visit by visit — we never force it.
The smallest effective treatment
We reach for the gentlest tool that will truly solve the problem — and nothing more than that.
Technology that removes fear
A laser instead of a drill. A brush-on liquid instead of a shot. The scariest parts of dentistry are increasingly optional here.
Parents in the loop
You hear the benefits, risks, and alternatives of every option before we proceed. The decision is always yours to make.
Children with special health care needs are welcome here
Tell us about your child before the visit — their comfort cues, their communication style, what tends to be hard — and we'll build the appointment around them. That might mean extra time, a calmer pace, gentler tools, or sedation when it's the kindest option. You know your child best. We listen.
What parents ask about comfort care.
We use sedation only when it's the kindest, safest choice — and never before discussing the risks, benefits, and alternatives with you. Dr. Tsai has additional pediatric training and is licensed and qualified for all three options we offer: nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. The details live on our sedation page.
Yes, and we'd be honored to. Tell us about your child ahead of time and we'll set the visit up to succeed — adjusting our approach, timing, and comfort options, and going entirely at their pace. Caregivers are partners here, not spectators.
We use the Solea laser — the first CO2 dental laser cleared by the FDA. Many procedures are virtually painless, done with no anesthesia and little to no bleeding, which means faster visits and no numb cheek afterward. For a nervous child, removing the drill and the shot changes everything. More on our laser dentistry page.
It depends on the service and your insurance. Our front desk reviews costs and benefits with you upfront, before treatment — so there are never surprises on the way out.
